A small tribute to Neil (own2feet)

Neil, an active participant on the FMA UK Forum, sadly passed away earlier this year. He will be sorely missed, especially for his humour and constant encouragement. We dedicate this magazine to his memory.

Dedications from forum members

“Neil supported me in the past with thoughtful and encouraging PM's [personal messages], and was always so humorous and funny, but also deeply caring and thoughtful. We have lost a true gentleman. He will be deeply missed.” (MOAL61)

“I was very sad to hear of Neil's passing away. While he had a lot on his plate, he always managed to make me laugh with his many and various posts. I would like to say on behalf of the Board of Trustees of FMA UK that we offer our condolences and sympathy to all his family.” (Roger Vice Chair & Treasurer, FMA UK)

“Neil brought humour with a difference to this forum, and he was such a gentleman, good company, listened, advised well and also gave so much energy and input. He will be sadly missed.” (Peggy)

“Neil was a wonderful man who was always there for people, cheering everyone up despite his own suffering. May he rest in peace.” (Bev frostybee32)

“Neil was always so chirpy and funny even though he had his own problems. I didn't know him, but he made me feel so welcome, and I always enjoyed reading his threads. Neil you will be greatly missed here, where you have made so many friends and have helped so many with your humour and understanding.” (Jellybelly)

“Neil was so lovely and sent me the funniest PM's. He had so much going on in his life and was always so brave.” (Miss Kitten)

Poem by Gill Shutt

NEIL'S GIFT
I can't believe that you are gone,
We only knew you for a while.
Yet through your pain and sadness, you
Made us smile.

You struggled with your illness,
Took setbacks on the chin,
No matter that you felt so down,
You made us grin.

Your life was full of heartache,
You lived with pain and fear
And yet advice you gave was always
Full of cheer.

I'm glad I got to know you,
And now you've gone I cry,
But, you would have wanted laughter
So, I'll try.

Neil’s friends, family and members of the forum have donated £442.75 to FMA UK in his memory.
