“My name is Maryanne Hood and I am 33 years of age, a single mum to three wonderful children. I work part time, and suffer from Fibromyalgia and M.E. I am raising awareness for Fibromyalgia as this is an invisible condition which can impact people in different ways. It can seriously impact the quality of life whilst leaving people in pain each day.
Symptoms of Fibromyalgia can include fatigue, muscle pain all over your body, muscle spasms, brain fog, headaches,
I am fundraising for Fibromyalgia Action UK and raising awareness by riding an Air Assault Bike for 10Km at CrossFit Shropshire on 28 September which will be a tough challenge for me.
I live with this daily and really push through the tough spells. My brain fog has been very hard for me and my family and being the mentally strong one was tough when we went into lockdown due to the pandemic of COVID-19.
Having the support of family, friends and neighbours has been exceptionally helpful. Being able to get the shopping was at times impossible with delivery slots being difficult to book, but my neighbours and friends helped by getting groceries for me when I was having a difficult day.”
