Table top sale in Horsham in aid of FMA UK

Gemma and Lauren are organising a fundraising table top sale on Saturday the 28th November in Horsham in aid of FMA UK.

Gemma told us: ‘’This is our first event which was initially a business idea of my best friend Lauren.  We were both fed up of the cold 6am car boot starts and being haggled down to 50p for expensive clothes we had only worn a handful of times if at all plus with both of us being just 23 years old we are self confessed shopping addicts but we love a bargain!  So Lauren came up with the initial idea of a ladies only event where everyone could enjoy a leisurely shopping experience at low prices but still fair to the stallholders and with Christmas creeping up on us fast everyone needs to raise some extra pocket money!  We also wanted to make sure there was better refreshments available then the usual car boot truck selling hot dogs, so we will be having a beautiful spread of freshly baked scones and cakes to enjoy with a hot or cold beverage.

I then put to Lauren that I would love to raise some money for FMAUK, I had been officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia in August 2015 and just like so many fibro sufferers went through the exhausting process of diagnoses it took almost a year from my last back injury to be diagnosed although myself and my family are sure it has been around a lot longer it just hit its peak in Oct 2014.

I am sure many fibro sufferers tell you the same, my doctors thought (and some still think) I was a loon and it was all in my head and so it is a charity very close to my heart.  Lauren has been through every step with me on this challenging journey so she appreciated my wanting to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

We've decided that 100% of the £1 buyers entry will be donated to FMAUK as well as a "guess the weight of the cake" game to raise more funds.  On top of this a dear friend of mine Rose, who has been a pillar of support to me since my illness began is a pedicurist and has kindly offered to give mini pedicures on the day for £5 100% of which she is donating to FMAUK also.  I myself make handmade cards and buntings and will be donating 20p from the sale of each card and £2 from the sale of each bunting."

The event will take place on Saturday the 28th November 1 pm to 4 pm

Venue:

The Forest School, Comptons Ln, Horsham RH13 5NW
