Run for FMA UK

One of our more popular organised ways to raise funds for FMA UK is through running for us. Runs can be beneficial not only to the charity, but to the individual running it. Training for a run is no easy feat and requires commitment, though it can reap rewards in terms of an improvement in health. FMA UK are privileged to have been allocated spaces in some of the Great Runs including the Great North Run. These runs are very popular and applications are usually in high demand, so spaces can be hard to obtain. Due to our allocation, you have a greater chance of selection by applying through us.

Why should I run?

Push yourself. Get out of your comfort zone. Make a difference. Help raise awareness. Feel proud.

What runs do we have in 2019?

Stirling Marathon 2019Great Stirling Marathon – Why not challenge yourself in the historical Scottish city of Stirling? The route combines scenery with city centre surroundings and makes for a perfect run. Take in history as you run past the centuries old Stirling Castle and the Wallace monument. The run takes place on the 28th April and presents a great opportunity for those interested.

Great South Run – Taking place in October, the Great South run allows runners to battle through the south coast of England. A popular run at 10 miles, it provides the opportunity to run, whilst not being as strenuous as a half marathon.

Manchester Run – The Manchester half marathon is located in the heart of one of the UK’s largest cities. It makes for a great day out, with an exquisite atmosphere in the city on the day. Taking place in May, the likelihood of pleasant weather slightly increases (fingers crossed).

Great North Run – By far the most popular of all the runs, the Great North Run is famous worldwide. Unfortunately, due to this, we have no spaces remaining for 2019. However, we will soon be considering places for the following year, and would advise anyone interested to get in touch so that we can consider reserving those for next years places.

What is expected of runners?

Runners are expected to raise a minimum of £350 for the charity and to pay a small registration fee, which is reduced for a certain period. We provide merchandise such as running vests etc.
